Nothing ruins a high school reunion more than drunk bores, or busybodies revisiting old bad memories, unless it would be murder. Sure enough, Jessica Beck's latest Donut Shop mystery includes all of the above plus blackmail. Skeletons are hiding in many closets, including Grace's, and Suzanne and Grace must find the killer to clear Grace's name.This episode was very satisfying. Suzanne and Grace 's relationship is back on an even keel, with the two friends truly supporting each other. I enjoyed the good repartee between them and their humanness as exhibited in barbs they throw at suspects. Suzanne's boyfriend's absence is bearable by the included phone calls to which the reader is privy. Beck is good to show her characters actually doing their jobs,as not all authors pay attention to that aspect. And I'm definitely ready to try the chocolate donut recipe!
