Description
Hario's classic ceramic dripper ranks among the best. The Hario V60 is a cone pour-over brewer which has been specially designed to produce an evenly brewed cup of coffee. The V60 is one of the most popular manual coffee brewers on the market today. Why the cone shape? The cone shaped paper filter adds depth to the coffee layer, so that the water flows to the center, extending the amount of time it is in contact with the ground coffee. The brand recognized by Coffee Geeks worldwide.

I watched a couple YouTube videos prior/during my first use. The coffee is smooth and full-bodied. I have a French press that I've had for years and had now run it's course, so I needed something to replace it. After comparing reviews between the two, I went with trying the dripper instead of another French press. I love the switch and I'm happy to not have any of the grittyness. Comparing the same coffee grounds between my old press and the dripper gave me completely different results, the press gave me a coffee I could barely chug down and the dripper gave me a smooth delicious cup of coffee. Disclaimer, my press was a very old, cheap press. Either way, I'm happy for the change and switch and for an easier clean up.Perfect little item Made in Japan. The first one I received was broken but the seller quickly replaced it. The design is smart, efficient and adorable. Most of my kitchen accoutrements are white porcelain and this fits right in. I love making 1 perfect cup at a time, vs extra that gets stale. The filters are a perfect fit. For some reason I feel very 'Marie Kondo' when I use it. Many similar items are made in China, yuck - not this one.I've used a huge variety of pourover devices over many decades (starting with the original Melitta #2 cone, and then on to many others). For my method & taste, this is the best pourover dripper I have ever owned, and have now bought a spare plus another in glass (to be fancy). Only thing I would recommend: the base is not wide enough when I make coffee into a large mug and I have had to contrive a sub-base to keep it from falling into the mug. (This problem exists for most other brands and models of pourover dripper, by the way, so it is not just this make or model that has this issue.) Making the base about 1 inch wider would be SO helpful.I am a coffee fan, and v60 is so easy to use compared to other styles of drippers. Ceramic does take a few seconds to heat up, but it retains heat much better than plastic. It is not on my gift list for anyone who I would love to share the love of coffee!Oh this boi sure do drip. I pour the toasty water in the cone and it goes “akerplunk kerplunk dribble dribble dribble” every morning for my coffee.I like to put flour in the cone and make a little Hario drip-hole sized noodle for my daily lunch time happiness.Works perfectly! No tasting plastic from coffee makers. I use my electric kettle to boil my water. I took it with me on vacation?Makes great coffee and is so easy to use! Ours came in great condition and is very sturdy. We’ve used it every morning and have not had a problem with it at all!Product was broken when it arrived. I received the replacement the next day which was awesome.DO I NEED TO SEND THE BROKEN ONE BACK? SEEMS TO BE A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME FOR EVERYONE. Love the hario v60. I only brew for myself so this is perfect size for small or large single brews. Good quality. The first one I ordered came broken. I submitted a review with pictures which for some reason amazon flagged and removed so I never was able to get it replaced. I ended up having yo superglue it together. I recently bought a new one though as I was moving and didn't want to risk it breaking again. This second one came all in tact and works wonderfully. Never brewing without a hario ever again. I've heard hario color affects flavour. I've only ever tried white and have no complaints.I love this cone. It's more expensive than the plastic version but it's so worth it. If you're a coffee freak like me, you'll appreciate that it better retains the water temperature which aids the quality of the extraction, aka makes the coffee tastes much better. If you like to get fancy, expensive, arabica, fair-trade, specialty unicorn, stardust, magic coffee, you might as well get the best gear to make the most of it.Mankind was not ment to know the slow, spreading bliss that can be obtained through the use of this deceptively simple looking piece of white ceramic, a paper cone, a thoroughly washed out ex-peanut butter jar, and some grounds purchased from a hipster with overly elaborate facial hair. Will using this open up you mind to previously unimagined levels of consciousness? Will it make you 69% (Nice) more attractive to your preferred sexual partner or partners? Will it raise the dearly departed back to vibrant life? Certain government regulatory agencies prevent me from answering those questions with yes, but I will tell you this, I believe. So, dear shopper, the answer is, "Yeah, it's pretty good."I got this to replace the rigid plastic cone which crazed and eventually split. The gap between the bottom of the filter paper and the lid of the jug is much less with this model so the flow through is much slower. However this delay gives better extraction of the coffee grounds so I now need to use less coffee saving money.
