I was given an old fridge because the water valve went out and the repairman wanted to charge the old owners of the fridge $200 to fix it. Lets be honest a 20 year old fridge is not really worth that since something else may fail later.I got the fridge diagnosed the problem as a bad water valve and went to the local parts store and they wanted $89 for the part I compaired their part to my old part. Yep right part. Wrong price.I came home found this part for less than $30 delivered. ordered Saturday had it by Friday. Installed it Friday evening in about 20 min. Cold water and ice now working fine. That was a month ago as I wanted to wait and see how it worked over a short time span. works perfect.The funny thing about this part is that it is exactly the same part made in the same mexican factory that the part at the local parts store was made in.The outside of the box states "Whirlpool Corporation FACTORY CERTIFIED PARTS" not my caps but thats the way it is on the box. Fits most Whirlpool, Kenmore, Roper, and KitchenAid brand refrigerators. Made in US (funny tag on side of part says Mexico but maybe they mean the box) Code 131201 Valve kit 4318046.If you want water and ice through the door and you can use a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench then you too can do it yourself and save $170 off of paying a repairman to do it for you.I would buy this part again in a second.UPDATE as of 7/11/13 still working like a champ. Makes more ice faster than my 2 year old LG fride upstairs does. Do not hesitate to buy this fill valve it has been worth every penny and then some.Update as of 7/17/14 still working like a champ. My daughter got her first real home after college and she inherited the fridge I put this valve in and it is working great still. I would not hesitate to buy this valve again.
