Description
Adding eclectic character to the kitchen stovetop, this polished-aluminum coffee pot features a unique octagon shape that was first designed in Italy in 1933. The unit makes one 2-ounce espresso cup of coffee in just four to five minutes and is extremely simple to use. Just fill the lower chamber with water and the top filter with fine-ground coffee. Then place the pot on the stove and heat until the water boils. Through a pressurizing process, espresso moves to the upper chamber of the pot, ready to be served. Other highlights include a flip-up top with an easy-grip knob, a stay-cool black plastic handle, and a side-pour spout. When finished using the unit, wash it by hand with warm soapy water and rinse clean. Made in Italy. Aluminum, stovetop espresso maker produces 1 demitassse cup of rich, authentic Italian espresso in just 4-5 minutes.

I got this little wonder today ; I followed the instructions and brewed through with just water three separate times (and allowed pot to cool between each time so it took awhile but worth it).I used cafe bustelo espresso grounds (will try various kinds in future). I used this to create an iced caramel macchiato (or at least a homemade version of it). I can’t drink hot auto drip coffee because it gives runs but cold brew tastes bland to me so I usually try to get an iced caramel macchiato lately in the morning.I also purchased Torani’s caramel sauce and syrup (from Walmart), cafe bustelo espresso grounds (Aldi). I already had almond milk at my house but purchase it at any grocery store (you can use your preferred milk). I had a glass mason jar on hand, not sure when or where it was purchased. For moka pot, I followed instructions- poured water in bottom, then put cafe bustelo espresso grounds in filter, screwed on top, and put on glass cooktop (electric stove) at medium heat. While waiting, I got out mason jar, squeezed caramel circles onto bottom and added a splash of caramel syrup. I had the moka pot in sight and was watching and listening while completing these other tasks. I waited for moka pot to finish and removed pot from heat. I added ice to my mason jar and then almond milk. I poured out two shots of the moka pot brew (one and a half espresso cups worth of brew; I have a 1 cup moka pot, you can see my tiny, white espresso cup in picture). I then poured the shots over top of ice, milk, and caramel syrup and sauce.I know you’re supposed to drink as is but I have a habit of stirring my iced macchiatos after a couple sips. Anyway, I LOVE it!!! Tastes similar to Tim Horton’s iced caramel macchiato which was my goal. I highly recommend and this was only my first one. Total time was approximately ten minutes (you do have to baby sit moka pot but better than sitting in a drive thru!).Very tasty and I am over the moon happy about this!!Hadn't used one for years but re-embraced it during a recent stay in Italy. Most of the negative reviews look like people not reading the instructions/tips. Most common errors are putting aluminum in the dishwasher and not seasoning before use. (the print is small but it's all there)After using the 3 and 6 "cup" models several times a day for a couple of weeks, I ordered the 6 and had it waiting for me when I got home. Using several times a day now because it's so simple and satisfying. It's not expresso but it's a delicous dose of strong coffee. Only unpublished tip is be thorough when cleaning grounds off the gasket and mating surface as you can kind of imbed them into the gasket and hasten it's deterioration or failure which seems like common sense however the fine expresso grind can be elusive so be judicous cleaning the lip of the water canister before screwing it together.I own many espressos pots. I made espresso for BF 36 years ago and accidentally put in American coffee. Ooops. But u know how sometimes good things happen by accident. From that day on I used an espresso pot for a single cup of coffee. Recently wanted to get a bigger coffee pot so when I make coffee I can make 2-3 cups of American coffee at one shot. Put in a thermos and have hot coffee when I wanted. I came across this. It’s aluminum. I was hoping to find a stainless steel one but I couldn’t locate one. 22 Oz makes 3 American cups of coffee. I use a chock full of nuts scoop that I have had for years. I did measure out for just 2 cups of coffee and put two scoops. It’s perfect, taste great. My only complaint is the filter basket. The rim of the basket could have had a drop more lip to be able to grab it with my fingers. Now I have to tilt it a bit it be able to grab it. With my other pots I can grab it with my fingers. they found a way to skimp a drop on the material. the company needs to redesign the filter lip to make it easier to grab. Love my pot.I Have never used any other style of coffee maker and I Love Bialetti. Make sure it comes form Italy, this one does! There are other imitations out there and they do not add up.I think maybe two years ago I ordered one off Amazon and it was time to replace they sent me a sample size packet of Italian coffee with my coffee maker but Not this time! This is the only thing that was disappointing.Love this little thing purchased "like new" at a discount. Great for a quick espresso shot any time you like, or add hot water for an Americano. Thus far I've only tried Bialetti and a very cheap China-made IMUSA, take a guess which one works better as per coffee making and flavor.Yes, I said flavor, you wouldn't expect it would be that much of a difference but a Moka pot that pushes the coffee out efficiently will come out tasting better than one that slowly sputters and spatters the coffee into the upper chamber. You might pay more, but you will not be sorry with a Bialetti. This is the real deal, solid, engineered and built with Italian craftsmanship. Brew yourself a delicate whisper or a full robusto! This is a solid, cast aluminum machine not a stamped out piece of foil. We have had our small pot for 30+ years (it's still making coffee everyday) and finally splurged for the big guy. Get one! You will thank yourself for it.I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend for our anniversary. It came very quickly and was in perfect condition upon arrival. We made coffee with it together and it was some of the best I ever had. He was super pleased with it and uses it every day.I wanted to wait until I used my Bialetti a couple of days before providing my feedback/review. I’ve been searching for some time (okay, not actively) to find just the right coffee system that would fulfill my need. I’ve spent money on trying many as well as spending money in coffee shops. I now feel it’s safe to say I’ve found the one for “me.” I’m a 1 cup a day coffee drinker, and it has to be good. I need one to help lift the fog in the morning, and this Bialetti provides this need. It’s both easy prep as well as clean-up afterward. In addition, the coffee is excellent. So, I hope my “me” will be yours or somewhere close therein for anyone else looking. It's certainly worth the money. Disfruten.very disappointed.first order I got a 3 cup model. Ended up being too small (only about a half cup of coffee so I returned). Second order I got 2 6 cup models. One had a sticky rubber handle and was not the model shown on pic. Lid on the 2nd did not close fully. Returned those 2 and ordered 2 more. This time 1 is perfect (newest model & no quality issues) but the other is again an older model with a wonky lid that doesn't close fully. Not taking the time to return again. Company should only be selling the high quality, most current models. I believe it should say U/M5 2016 on the inside lid. My filter on one of them also does not say made in Italy as the other does. Does make a great coffee but come on get your stuff together. Excellent product. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Having read a view reviews, I can see why some have said some parts are not as robust as expected , the funnel for example is not as heavy as the larger body but is also not exposed to direct flame so presumably doesn't need to be. Also, a few reviews mentioned bitter coffee, but here I think, you just really need to take note of the guidance and have the flame or heat quite low so it's a slow brew (which should be the point of a lovely traditional method imo) The result is wonderfully smooth coffee which leaves a wonderful aroma in the kitchen. A careful wash and leaving apart to dry, this should last years.
